Edna Aikin was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Madison County to Edwin and Mary Alice (Brittain) Trester. She was raised and educated in Winterset and Buffalo Lake, Minn. She married Ray Aikin April 11, 1925, in Winterset. They moved to Marshalltown in 1957, and both worked at the Iowa Veterans Home for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great-grandaughter.
She is survived by three daughters, Corinne Eivins of Marshalltown, Florence Thomas (husband Jack) of Winterset and Margaret Blair (husband Charles) of Macksburg; one son, Keith of Marshalltown; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Aikin Bittinger of Winterset; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
