Mrs. Ida Andrews Died on February 10
Mrs. Ida Irene Etchlson Andrews, wife of Z. T. Andrews, prominent citizen of Beat Nine, passed away at her home on Friday, February 10th, after an illness of about four years. This beloved Chambers County woman was born in Randolph County but she had made her home in this county for the past fifty years or more. She was 77 years of age. The funeral was held from the Antioch Baptist church on Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock, with the Rev. T. V. Shoemaker officiating, and being assisted by the Rev. Shields Christian. Surviving are her husband and three children, Mrs. Era Hinkle, Mrs. Leila Abernathy and Jim Andrews, all of LaFayette. A number of grandchildren and other close relatives also survive. Pallbearers were grandsons: Lewis, Jr., Willie, Grady, Walter, Andrew and Julian Hinkle and William Abernathy. Honorary pall bearers were Robert Smedley, Arville Farrington, Lewis Stilwell, R. T. Andrews, Lewis Andrews and Harvil White. Granddaughters of the deceased were flower girls. Many beautiful floral offerings attested the esteem of Mrs. Andrews. J. E. Cutler, local funeral direct or, was in charge of the funeral plans.
