Frances E. Wakeland, 73, of 742 23rd St., Rock Island, died Friday at home following an extended illness.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, with Dr. David B. Castrodale, former pastor of South Park Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rock Island.
Visitation will be 12 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Frances E. Bailey was born in Rural Township in Rock Island County. She married Gerald Wakeland in July 1963 near Orion.
She was a teacher for seven years in Edgington and Walnut and for 32 years in Rock Island, retiring in 1965.
She was a former member of the Fay Colburn Guild, and belonged to the Retired Teachers Association; Rock Island Chapter No. 269, Order of the Eastern Star; and Vashti White Shrine of Jerusalem, Rock Island No. 23.
She also belonged to Daughters of the Nile, Davenport; the Rock Island County Historical Society; Rock Island Woman's Club; and South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.
Surviving are the widower; a sister, Mrs. Bernice A. Kimball, Reynolds; and three nieces.
