He was the son of the late William and Mary Smith Murren.
Mr. Murren was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from BMY, in York. He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Edgegrove, the American Legion in Hanover, the Hanover VFW, and the Catholic War Veterans, in Bonneauville.
He was the husband of Caroline M. "Carrie" Groft Murren for 53 years and surviving, in addition to her, are one sister, Agnes Smith, of Hanover, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Powell, Regina Murren, Catherine Rickrode, and Bernadette Groft, and four brothers, Charles Murren, Leo Murren, Paul Murren, and Raymond Murren.
