"I do not believe the name is Mary Josephine Brewer. The gravestone simply says Josie. There are no records for this child other than the gravestone and a U.S., Indian Census Roll dated June 1899 where the mother, Minnie Dardenne Brewer, is listed with daughter, Mary C. Brewer, age 3 and "child male 4 months."
The gravestone inscription reads "died January 21, 1900; lived 10 months 3 days" which calculates to March 18, 1899 as the birth date. The child would have been about 4 months old when the previously mentioned census was taken. Minnie is listed as mother of 7, 6 living in the 1910 census."
