His back broken five years ago when he was caught in cave-in at a gravel bank at the plant of the Peerless Drawn Steel Company, Joseph Muniz, 36, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday evening, at 9 o'clock, at his residence in Henry street. He had been paralyzed from his waist down and ever since his injury had been confined to bed and a wheel chair.

Mr. Muniz was born in Spain and came to this country 18 years ago. The recent McPherson meeting Canton he attended with the hope of recovery, but although no physical change resulted, he became an ardent church worker. He was a member of the Wesley Methodist church and attended services regularly.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lottie Muniz and two brothers and two sisters in Spain.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock, at the residence in Henry street, and at 2 o'clock, at the Wesley Methodist church. The Rev. Grant Perkins, of Minerva, formerly pastor of the local church, assisted by the Rev. John Pringle, pastor of the United Brethren church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Massillon cemetery.
