Laura Ellen Anderson was born June 4, 1880, in Humboldt County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret Doty Anderson.

She was educated in the country schools.

She was united in marriage to Casius Rhiner of Hardy in 1898 at Humboldt. The couple lived at Hardy for a number of years, before moving to Eagle Grove in 1913. Mr. Rhiner passed away in 1952 and Mrs. Rhiner continued to maintain her own home, until being hospitalized and taken to the Humboldt Care Center in 1973.

She died at the Humboldt Community Hospital on Saturday, March 1, at the age of 94 years, 8 months, and 27 days.

She is survived by two brothers: Ralph Anderson of Eagle Grove; and Edwin Anderson, New York Mills, Minn.; and two sisters: Mrs. Emma Bogard, Corwith; and Mrs. Ethel Baessler, Humboldt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Clara, four sisters, and three brothers.

Mrs. Rhiner was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Past Noble Grands.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 3, at the United Methodist Church, Rev. Donald Glazier officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
