BEA MABRY

Tupelo - Bea Mabry, 88, formerly of Jackson, went to be with her Lord and Savior and husband, Carl L. Mabry, on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Traceway Retirement Community. She was born May 29, 1925, in the Shady Grove Community of Smith County to John Andrew and Mary Angeline Bryant Sellers. In the summer of 2008, she and her husband, Carl, moved to Tupelo to be close to their niece, Pat Swindoll.

Affectionately known as Aunt Bea, she was a former member of West Park United Methodist Church in Jackson. Bea adored her church family and upon moving to Tupelo, moved her membership to First United Methodist Church where she acquired even more friendships and love from her new church family. A faithful Godly Christian woman she would bake pound cakes and give out while witnessing of her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She hosted many bridal and baby showers and Christmas parties for members of her family, friends and her Church.

She authored two books, A Peach of a Mother-in-Law and Aunt Bea & Her Family, as well as numerous skits and plays for her church and family.

A thoughtful woman, among many wonderful things she did for others, she would always remembered to send out birthday cards and Christmas cards to all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. When cards or gifts were received by her, she called or wrote personal letters of thanks.

A celebration of Bea's life and faith will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Lynn Mote with a eulogy by family member, Paul Trivette. A graveside will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
