Meryl V. DuBry, 93, of Mullen died Jan. 6, 2005, at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Mullen. She was born July 1, 1911, in Hemingford to Lee and Lucy Fiedler Roland. She grew up near Hemingford and graduated from high school there. She received her normal teaching degree and taught rural school for a few years. On Sept. 28, 1952, she married George Dubry in Alliance. Together they ranched near Whitman later moving near Alliance. She worked for a dress shop. Mrs. DuBry was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Whitman Community Club. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, making afghans, fancy work, sewing and visiting with her friends and family. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Bob) Sloyer of Casper, Wyo.; a son, Thomas DuBry of Norfolk; stepdaughter, Georgia Miller of Mason City; stepson, Duane DuBry of Chadron; sister, Oneta Clark of Scottsbluff; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and four sisters. Services will be at the United Methodist Church in Mullen. Graveside services will be at the Alliance Cemetery in Alliance.
