He was united in marriage in April 1952 to the former Ladie Mae Eddie this union was blessed with five children.
Services will be held at 12:00 Wednesday, February 18,1998 at the New Hebron M. B. Church with the Rev. Sam Crawford officiating. Burial will be the church cemetery. Jackson Mortuary of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Ladie Mae James, Three sons, Bobby Ray(Nellie) James, Johnny Ray(Aillean) James, and John III(Shelia) James, all of Aberdeen, Mississippi two daughters, Brenda (John) Ewings, Denver, Colorado and Marie James of Aberdeen, Mississippi; four sisters, Pompie Harris, West Point, Mississippi and Johnny Lou Baker of Aberdeen, Mississippi, Essie (Alex) Chandler, Albany New York, and Annie Davis, East St. Louis, Illinois; four brothers, Jessie (Louise) James, David (Plascellia) James, all of Aberdeen, Benjamin (Hazel) James of Warren, Ohio, Samuel James of Columbus, Ohio; one uncle Silas Vasser, Aberdeen, Mississippi;fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by hos parents and siblings Walter, Romie and George James and a sister Ladie B. Ross.
