Franklin News-Herald, Monday, Oct 8 1894:
William Lamberton, old and well known citizen of Rockland Township, Venango County, died Thursday, Oct. 4, at the age of 71. Services were held at 1 pm yesterday, interment being in Nickleville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Over a year ago he was badly injured by being caught and crushed by the cross-beam of of a barn door while on a load of hay he was driving into the barn. His powerful physical organization enabled him to survive his injuries, but he never recovered his strength, and for several months previous to his death, he was gradually failing. He was a younger member of the family of nine children born to William and Elizabeth G. Lamberton of Gorton Raid, about six miles from the walled town of Londonderry, Ireland. He was a brother of the late Judge Robert Lamberton, and James G. Lamberton and Mrs. Ann Shannon of Franklin. He came to this country when a young man, and for the greater part of his life was engaged in farming. He was an honest and upright man, prospering through his industry and perseverance, and was held in general respect, both as citizen and neighbor.

He leaves a family of three sons and two daughters.
