The funeral of Mrs. Emma Ransom (Hall) Starr, wife of Rev. Jared Starr of Newington, will be held in Grace Church, Newington, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. George T. Linsley, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Hartford, conducting the service. The burial will be in the Starr family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London, on Saturday. Rev. Dr. Samuel Hart will officiate at the grave. Mrs. Starr, who died at her home at Newington Junction, Wednesday night, had been an invalid for fifteen years and the end came as peacefully as a child falling asleep. Mrs. Starr was the daughter of the late Jesse and Emma (Ransom) Hall of Portland, Conn., where she was born, February 8, 1834. She was married to Mr. Starr in Christ Church, Hartford, by the late Rev. Dr. R.M. Abercombie, October 1, 1857, and in 1859 came with her husband to Newington, where they have since resided. She was the mother of nine children. Besides her husband she leaves four children, Jonathan Starr of Terryville, Edmund Starr of Newington, Frederick W. Starr of Westfield Mass., and Miss Elsie Gertrude Starr of Newington, who has lovingly cared for her mother during her entire illness. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. John S. Jarvis of Saybrook.
