Jared Starr, son of Jonathan Starr and Catharine Luma, born Jan 15, 1835 in New London, graduated Trinity College in 1856, resided in Hartford until 1859, when he bought a farm in Newington CT and settled there. In 1866 he represented the state Legislature, was senior warden in Grace Church. He married in Christ Church in Hartford, Oct 1, 1857, Emma Ransom Hall, daughter of Jesse Hall and Emma Ransom of Portland CT.
