1948-0701 CN: Mrs. Evia Linner Strange, 90, died Monday at the residence in Maysville following a short illness. She was born in Banks County and was a member of Nails Creek church. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Nails Creek Baptist Church, Dr. A. T. Cline and Rev. D. C. Williams officiating. Interment was in the churchyard. Sanders Funeral Home directors in charge. She is survived by two sons, J. [Jesse] S. Strange, of Cornelia; Will Strange, of Waynesville, NC; and two daughters, Mrs. [Mary] George Osborne, of Homer; and Mrs. Hattie E. Ariail, of Maysville.

Dorothy Strange, granddaughter of Evia Linner Strange, stated to Todd Dorsey on 15 Nov 2006 that her grandmother's tombstone incorrectly lists her birth year as 1877. Since she was 90 at the time of her death, Evia would have been born circa 1858.
