Janet Veloy Nay, 75, of St. George, UT, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from cancer. She was born in Richfield, UT, on March 18, 1939, to John Thomas and Erma Lenor Dalley Nay. She was the only one of the nine children in the family delivered in a hospital.
The family resided in Spry, Utah until she was eight years old at which time they moved to Milford where she continued her schooling and graduated from Milford High School and afterwards attended Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah from which she obtained her business degree. She then Moved to California and began her career as a secretary and was employed with the same company for over 37 years before retiring to Saint George, Utah in 2004.
Janet was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day -Saints and served in a variety of callings. Music played a big part in her family and she continued that love of music by being part of many ward choirs. Her hobbies and things she enjoyed included reading, crafts, children of all ages, eating at good restaurants with family and friends. She loved Christmas, collecting dolls, unicorns, angels, and Hallmark Christmas ornaments.
Janet is survived by a sister, Darlene Miller of Brigham City, Utah. She passed away two days after her sister Gladys and is now reunited with her parents and siblings: Sisters, Una Caldwell, Della Lee, Donna Jensen, Gladys Whittaker and brothers: Harry, Art, and Deward.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the St. George East Stake Center, 449 S. 300 E., St. George, UT. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at 3:00 pm at the Milford City Cemetery.
