Walter O. Davis, 78, of Eldon, died Sunday at Charles E. Still Hospital (Jefferson City). He was born March 6, 1905 at Brumley, a son of Elmer Z. and Rebecca Welshaunse Davis. On Nov. 5, 1928, at Linn Creek, he was married to Dorothy Hodges, who survives of the home.

Mr. Davis was a farmer who operated the Farmer’s Mutual Switchboard in Olean for 16 years. He also worked at the Eldon Hog Market before his retirement.

Other survivors include: a brother, Lester Davis, Camdenton; two sisters, Gladys Brown, Stoutland, and Pauline Scrivner, Valley Center, Kan.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Olean Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Enloe Cemetery in Russellville.
