EDWARD FLEMING "Ed" DUNAWAY, 87, of Fairland passed away Sunday April 6, 2014 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.

He was born October 2, 1926 in Muses Mills Kentucky the son of Marvin and Hazel (Davis) Dunaway. On December 31, 1949 he married his wife, Frances Kirby, and she preceded him in death on January 9, 1993.

Ed was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1945 to 1949 as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Ed retired in 1982 as a supervisor at General Motors Truck and Bus after 35 years of service. He was an avid bass fisherman, trapper and hunter.

Survivors include his sons, Philip K Dunaway and wife, Kathy of Fairland, Roger A Dunaway and wife, Becki of Indianapolis; daughter, Karen Billman and husband, Andrew of Indianapolis; brother, Thomas Dunaway of Greenwood; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil Dunaway and William Dunaway; and sisters, Amy Mullikin and Mary Poppaw.

Interment will be in the Manchester Cemetery in Manchester Ohio.
