Oscar married Nellie Elizabeth (McCarthy) Cutting on Jan. 2, 1876, in Concord, Dodge, Minnesota. Nellie was a widow of Mr. Cutting when Oscar married her. According to LDS ancestral records, Nellie was born Jan 1, 1861 at Clyman, Dodge County, Minnesota, however the 1911 N.D. census records show she was born in Wisconsin.

The Alberta family history book index shows that there may be a family story for Oscar in 'Mingling Memories'.

Oscar W. Ingersoll, a former resident near Hillsdown, died on Friday last, aged 65 years. Deceased leaves a wife, a married daughter and one son. Interment took place in Red Deer cemetery, the burial services being conducted by the I.O.O.F. lodge on Sunday last, a number of the members of the Red Deer lodge attending the funeral.
