John Aaron Royse, 72, Weldon resident, well-known here, died at 9:30 pm Monday following a heart attack. Shortly before his death, Mr. and Mrs. Royse had received word of the death of their son-in-law, Albert Leach, Moweaqua, who died at 8:15 pm Monday.
The Royse's were preparing to leave for Moweaqua when Mr. Royse was taken ill. He had been in failing health for some time.
A retired farmer, Mr. Royse was born February 10, 1878 in Piatt County, a son of Hiram and Mary Royse. He married Helena Bruns on March 12, 1902.
He had lived on a farm south of Weldon until two years ago when he moved to Weldon.
