Clark Wayne Franklin, 87, of Snapp Ferry Road, Afton, died Wednesday at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

He was a lifelong farmer.

Mr. Franklin "was a avid hunter, fisherman, and farmer, who loved the outdoors," his family said.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Jeanine Franklin; his grandchildren: Rusty Franklin, Heith Franklin, Brooks Franklin, and Tameka Franklin; his great-grandchildren: Alex Franklin, Macey Franklin, T.K. Franklin, Jayden Merriweather, and Bishop Merriweather; one daughter-in-law: Karen Franklin; one sister: Anna Lee Blankenship; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a son of the late L.C. And Fannie Shelton Franklin and was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years: Erma Franklin; two sons: Ronnie Franklin and Dusty Franklin; and 12 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.

The Rev. Jeff Casteel will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the committal service.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kelley, Bill Boswell, Heith Franklin, Michael Gordon, Buck Steele, Tom Shell, Rusty Franklin and Marty Southerland
