Floyd Trammell, age 95 of Winfield, Tennessee, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Center of the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Born in Scott County, Tennessee on November 3, 1918 he was the son of the late Dock and Josie Baker Trammell.

Floyd was a faithful member and deacon of the Clay Hill Baptist Church until his health decline. He was a charter member and helped to write the churches by-laws and constitutions.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Edna King Trammell; daughter, Anita "Sue" Trammell Smith; infant son, Dennis Trammell; three sisters Marie Davis, Beulah Jones and Geneva Smithers; six brothers, Russell, Willie, Edd, Virgle, Arnold and Paul Trammell.
Floyd is survived by his daughters, Opal Carter and husband Jerry, Wanda Lawson and husband Gary; sons, Lonnie Trammell and wife Mary, Herman Trammell and wife Sharon and Darrell Trammell and wife Sue; eleven grandchildren, Shane Trammell, Rachael Huffman, Travis Trammell, Daniel Trammell, Darrell Smith, Jr., Julie Weber, Jason Trammell, Herman Trammell, Jr., Gary Lawson, Jr., Christy Harness and Jerry Carter, Jr.; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves other friends and relatives.
Friends may visit with the Trammell family on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Davis and Bro. Mark Smith officiating.


Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Shane, Travis and Daniel Trammell, Darrell "Bo" Smith, Jr., Herman Trammell, Jr. and Jerry Carter, Jr.

Interment will follow in the DC Trammell cemetery.
