Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph.
Military rites and burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 13, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Dey-Florin Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Kizer was born on Jan. 28, 1915, in Springfield, Ill., to Charles and Iota Kizer. He moved to this area with his family in 1928.
Bob was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, Iceland, and Northern Africa.
Mr. Kizer retired in 1977 from Trinity Lutheran Church after 29 years of employment as the church and school custodian. He was also a member of the Retired for Fun Club. , Mr. Kizer is survived by his sons Thomas (Sherry) Kizer of Winter Garden, Fla., James Kizer of Cherry Valley, Ill ., Scott (Janice) Kizer of Bridgman; daughters Trudy (Charles) . Williams of Evanston, Ill., Kaylene (David) Stygar of Benton Harbor and Connie (Michael) Little of Camden, Del.; a brother, Paul (Nancy) Kizer of Ann Arbor; a sister, Marguerite Coble of Albuquerque, NM.; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ester, in 1990; his daughter, Sandra; and his brother, Charles Kizer.
