Clarence C. Peterson, 61, a life long resident of Hamilton County, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home north of Aurora.
Funeral services were held at the Higby Mortuary on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. La Verne Erickson, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant church officiated. Harold Wochner sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Where He Leads Me", accompanied by Mrs. Charles L. Whitney Sr. at the organ.
Casket bearers were Clayton Kauffman, Viggo Thomsen, Robert Cradick, Roy Phillips, Arvid Lindquist and Simon Reed. Interment was in the Aurora cemetery.
Clarence Clifford Peterson, son of Alfred L. and Hattie Brown Peterson, was born December 2, 1901, and passed away suddenly at his home on September 22,1963, at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 20 days. His entire lifetime had been in the vicinity of Aurora.
He had farmed during his lifetime and had also worked at the plumbers trade for a number of years. During World War II he was employed in defense work in Grand Island.
On July 21, 1935, he married Florence Hiebert at Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother and a half-sister Mary Jane Meyer.
Those who survive are his wife, Florence and their one daughter, Arlys at home; a brother Ray Peterson of Grand Island; two half-brothers, Alfred of Grand Island and Robert of Blue Hill and a half sister, Mrs. Emma Caroline Fogt of Grand Island, and many other relatives and friends.
