Short services were held in Blue Hill where they have resided for 4 years, on Wednesday, and final rites will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock from the United Brethren church with Rev. Paul Porter in charge. W.H. Menzie accompanied by Mrs. Nelson Ronne, will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus."
Mary Jane Peterson, eldest daughter of Alfred and Sarah Peterson was born at Aurora, Nebr. on May 9,1915 and passed away at the Mary Lanning hospital in Hastings, Nebr. on October 23, 1944 after a short illness.
She was united in marriage to Donald Meyer of Inland, Nebr. on September 4, 1935. To this union one son was born.
Those remaining to mourn her passing are her husband; one son Tommy; her mother, Mrs. Sarah Peterson of Aurora; one sister Mrs. Ted Fogt of Alhambra Calif.; two brothers Alfred in England and Robert in Georgia; two half-brothers, Clarence of Aurora and Raymond of Schuyler, Nebr., other relatives and a large number of friends.
Her father preceded her in death, passing away about ten years ago.
Flower girls will be Mrs. Don Snoberger and Mrs. Arnold Ericksen of Grand Island.
Pallbearers will be Don Snoberger, Don Zehr, C.E. Carlson and Kirt Robinson, Danny Chatterson and Darrel Hartzell of Inland.
Those coming from a distance to attend the services are her sister, Mrs. Ted Fogt who arrived from California Wednesday evening and her brother Robert of Georgia, and her brother Raymond of Schuyler.
She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.
