Trine (sometimes called Thrina) was born in Denmark. She and her husband-to-be, Andrew (earlier called Anton), immigrated to the United States in 1885, and were married in 1888.
Trine only had a 4th grade education, and Andrew an 8th grade education, but their daughter, Lillian, born in Nebraska, graduated from High School, and later continued living with them.
The family always lived in Omaha. 2619 Blondo, 3006 S. 32nd Street, and simply Ward 8 were street addresses.
Thrine (Trine)told the Census Taker in 1900 that she had given birth to two children, but only Lillian was living. In 1900, Anton (Andrew) earned a living as a sign painter, and 9-year old Lillian was at school. The other child, who only lived one day, dying April 21, 1889, was interred in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Lillian was born about 1891.
Later, in 1940, when Andrew was 72, and Trine was 71, they were retired. Lillian, 49, now supported them with her earnings as a secretary for Penn. Mutual Life Insurance (the Land Department division). In 1939 Lillian earned $1880, more than many men of her day.
Lillian died Dec. 24, 1947, when she was about 56 years old. Andrew had died in January, 1945, at age 77. Lillian was cremated, and later, when Trine Talleruphus passed away in February, 1956, at age 87, Lillian's ashes were buried in her mother's grave.
