Lee Iden, of five miles west of Harpster, and one mile east of Brownstown, died at his home Friday morning at 1:30 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. He had been bedfast the past two weeks. Death was attributed to valvular heart disease. Lee Iden, son of Randolph and Susanna Iden, was born near Gratiot, Licking county, Ohio, June 2, 1860. He was aged 71 years, 11 months and 25 days at the time of demise. While still a young man he went to Madison county and there took up the occupation of farming which he followed through life. He was united in marriage at Plain City to Olive Motteler in 1886. In 1899 Mr Iden moved with his family to Wyandot county and located near Harpster in which community he since resided. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Iden, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Harmon, of Columbus, and two sons, Darrel Iden, of Mansfield, and Raymond Iden, at home. A daughter, Miss Cecil Iden, died in 1921, and Mrs. Iden died in 1926. Besides the children, the deceased is survived by two brothers, John and Elmer Iden, both of Licking county and by five grandchildren. Early in life Mr. Iden became a member of the Baptist church. He was well and favorably known throughout Harpster community, which mourns the loss of a fine citizen. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Iden residence. Burial will be made at Oak Hill cemetery.
