DAYTON - Dr. Howard L. Cleeland, 61-year-old drugless therapist, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 3:45 p.m. Friday (April 5, 1957) at his Pine Knoll (Dayton RD 2, Wayne Twp.) home. Cleeland had been a practicing chiropractor here and at Aspinwall, for more than a quarter century. Born March 18, 1896, at Pittsburgh, Dr. Cleeland attended Pittsburgh public schools and was graduated in 1925 from Lincoln Universal Chiropractic College. In subsequent years he took postgraduate courses from that college and its affiliates. He had a practice at Aspinwall from 1925 to 1949, after which he devoted all his time to the Dayton area practice. Dr. Cleeland is survived by his wife, the former Edna Mae McAninch, three daughters, Mrs. Carol of Cleveland, Mrs. Janet Leasure of Dayton RD2, and Mrs. Ruth Ferris, Monroeville. Four grandchildren also survive in these two sisters, Miss Lulu Cleeland and Mrs. Edna Vandervort, both of Pittsburgh. Friends are being received at Bly funeral home here, where Rev. George Little, Pastor of Aspinwall Lutheran Church, will conduct services at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will take place in Glade Run Cemetery.

Born in Pittsburgh March 18, 1896, he attended Pittsburgh schools, and was graduated from Lincoln Universal Chiropractic College. Since then he had taken several post graduate courses from affiliated collages. He had practiced in Aspinwall from 1925-49.
