Edward S. Bryngelson, 87, of Barron died March 29, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at First Lutheran Church in Barron, with Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating and burial in the Wayside Cemetery there.

Mr. Bryngelson was born Sept. 1, 1912 in Chetek to Bert and Edith (Goolsbey) Bryngelson. He grew up in Chetek and attended Country Grade School near Chetek. On April 15, 1934 he married Rose Heil in Barron, and they farmed by Sioux Creek and later in the Barron area. Mr. Bryngelson also worked at many businesses within the community. He was one of the first turkey farmers in the area for Jerome Foods. Mr. Bryngelson enjoyed woodworking, music, poetry, politics, geology, theology, history and geography.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Darrell of Poskin Lake and Carlyn of Maplewood, Minn.; a daughter, Joan Howard of LaCrosse; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gertrude Issacson of Tacoma, Wash.
