*Emma was my grandpa's sister. She was a daughter of Frederick and Fredericka (Voss) Hoeft. Emma's first husband was George Koch (sometimes spelled Cooke) and her second husband was George Adams. She had five children from her first marriage: Hattie, Bernard, Alvin, Clarence and Harold. She was well-known for her pie making. Emma converted to the Catholic religion when she was in her 80's.
