Dean P. Adams, 85, of 5386 Georgetown Road, Franklin, died at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born March 9, 1920, in Polk, he was the son of Plumer and Hazel Higbee Adams.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Adams worked in the shipping department at Mobil Oil and also as a painter for Polk Center.

He was married Sept. 16, 1950, to Shirley Crawford, who survives, with four children, James Dean Adams and wife, Sonja, of Frederick, MD, a foster son, Charles Gibbons of Tyrone, Penny Adams of Johnstown and Carol Woodward and husband, Charles III, of Maryville, TN; six grandchildren, Lorraine Adams-Craig and husband, Steven, and Patricia Adams, all of Virginia Beach, VA, Telly Snipes and Demar Atwood, both of Frederick, MD, Michelle Smith of
Shepardsville, KY, and Charles Woodward IV of Eugene, OR; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Hays Adams of Cranberry Township; and a sister, Gail Smith of San Diego, Calif. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne Adams, Clyde Adams, Russell Adams and Boyd Adams; and three sisters, Elizabeth Monahan, Merle Adams and Shirley Smith.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Nicklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Graham, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Nicklin Cemetery.
