Edward A. Frick, 60-year-old painting and paperhanging contractor and the first and only president of the Enterprise Club, died suddenly in his home, 315 North High Street, at 5:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Frick worked yesterday and had returned home when he was seized with a fainting spell about 4:30 p.m. His physician believed a stroke of apoplexy or a heart stroke was responsible for his death.

Born in Belleville on December 2, 1877, Mr. Frick was a son of the late Conrad J. and Eulalie Frick, nee Pigeon. His father was a native of Belleville and his mother a native of St. Louis. His father, too, was a painter and paperhanger and upon his death Edward A. Frick took over the business.

The Enterprise Club, a men's social organization, was formed more than 30 years ago and Frick, elected president from the outset, has been re-elected on each succeeding year. He also was a member of the South Side Improvement Association and the Master Painters' Association.

On December 30, 1903, he married Bertha Claire Herzog in St. Peter's Cathedral. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters:

~ Miss Aurelia Frick, at home, a teacher at the Signal Hill School.
~ Lillian, wife of Ervin S. Kamper, 10 Kircher Place.

Mr. Frick also leaves a granddaughter, Lou Etta Kamper.

Also surviving are a sister and four brothers:

Mrs. Arthur Wagner, St. Louis
William Frick, St. Louis
Benjamin Frick, St. Louis
Frank Frick, 1220 East B St
Walter Frick, 313 S First St

Funeral services at 3 p.m. Sunday from Gundlach and Company Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery with Rev. B. J. Koehler, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Church, officiating.
