Memorial services for Marie Edith Dixon Richards, 92, formerly of Mountain View, MO, will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains.

Marie, daughter of the late Herschel A. Dixon and Malinda Alice Mills Dixon, was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Pierce Township, Texas County, MO, and died Jan. 18, 2010, in Burke, VA.

She married Dwight Earnest Richards on May 21, 1938, in Willow Springs, MO, who preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1985. Together, they started up Richards Brothers Grocery and Feed Store in Mountain View, in 1947. In 1962, she became a licensed practical nurse from the Practical Nursing Training School in Muskogee, OK.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Richards Smith, of Springfield, VA; granddaughter, Stacie Cage, grandson-in-law, Gary Morris Cage, Jr. and great-grandsons, Benjamin Tyler Cage and Brandon Lee Cage, all of Herndon, VA; one sister, Irene Dixon Beltz of O'Fallon, MO; one brother, William Floyd Dixon of Fresno, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Clifford Earl Dixon, Dale Harvis Dixon, and an infant brother; two sisters, Mary Ruth Dixon and Eva Viola Dixon Daugherty.
