George Sneddon Semple was born on June 21, 1908 to parents, John Semple (1879-1941) and Jeanie Hampton (Sneddon) Semple (1881-1959), at Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

His siblings were Henry "Harry" Semple (1901-1973) and Helen "Nell or Nellie" (Semple) Meikle (1904-1940).

He married Marion Ferguson McMillan. They had two children, John Semple and Janet Cleland Semple. He died in 1978 at 70 years old.
