Verna Emma Helen Krause, 96, of Palatka, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Kiva of Palatka following an extended illness. A native of Brown County, South Dakota, she resided in Palatka since 2002 coming from Brown County. Years ago, Verna taught elementary school in the Brown County School District. She was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Keystone Heights.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Krause, 2 sons, Darrell Krause and Kent Krause, a brother, Reuben Angerhofer and her parents, Alvin Angerhofer and Laura Dahme Angerhofer.
She is survived by 2 sons, Duane Krause and wife Betty of Palatka and Bill Krause, Jr. and wife Janet of Oxnard, CA, 2 daughters-in-law, Genelle Collins of Colorado Springs, CO and Opal Krause of Santa Monica, CA, a sister, Esther Wilson of Aberdeen, SD, 12 grandchildren, Karene Krause Schriner, Jeffrey Krause and companion Beth Ostapiuk, Molly Krause, Emily Krause, Megan Krause, Steven Krause, Lisa Sage and husband Roger, Carmen Krause, Michelle Henggeler and husband, Randall, Aaron Krause, Candice Kollas and husband, Spencer and John Krause and wife Catherine and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Richard Schleicher officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00.
