OBITUARY

On February 18th occurred the death of Holland Balch which was caused by typhoid pneumonia.

Mr. Balch was one of the best known men in town, having always lived here with the exception of about [?] years when he resided in the state of Michigan, and the time that he served in the army.

The deceased was born at Onondaga, N.Y., January 31st, 1825. Therefore he was 73 years of age at the time of his death. Four children, three daughters and one son, survive, viz, Mrs. C.J. Johnson of Ontario, Mrs. C.W. Barker and Miss Jennie Balch of Sodus, and Charles Balch of Sodus Point. Two sisters and two brothers also survive, Mrs. William Berry and Mrs. Joseph Granger, and John Balch of Mt. Morris, Mich., and Orrin Balch of Popular Grove, Ill.

The funeral was held from the home of his son Charles; Rev. P.J. Williams officiating.
