Mrs. Margaret DePuysselier Walker, age 89, passed away on Sunday evening, March 9, 2014 at Memorial Skilled Nursing Unit, where she had been a resident for over 10 years. Mrs. Walker was formally a resident of Colonial Towers, in Towanda, Pa.

She was born in Margaretville, N.Y. on July 26, 1924 the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Louise M. VanDriessche DePuysselier. Mrs. Walker was a housewife and homemaker, for her late husband Donald Hubert Walker, who passed away on November 22, 2002, and their family of 11 children. Most of her time was spent raising and caring for their children, but in her spare time she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, as well as being accomplished at doing needlepoint.

Surviving are her three sons, Richard (Joyce) Walker, of Towanda, Pa., Ronald (Dawn) Walker of Wysox, Pa., and Joseph Walker of Towanda, Pa.; and her six daughters, Rosie Brown, of Owego, N.Y., Bobbi (Weston) Mosier, of Rome, Pa., Katie (Paul) Brown of Troy, Pa., Maryanne (Keith) Mosier, of Ulster, Pa., Judy (Steve) Rakowski, of Towanda, Pa., Patty (Ronnie) Johnson, of Wysox, Pa.; also her 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Florence Osborn, of N.Y., and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Walker who passed away in 1952 and Jerry Walker, who passed away in 1998; also two sisters, Josephine, and Emma, and a brother, Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at St. Mary's of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, SR6, Wyalusing, Pa., with Father Joseph Manarchuck, of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, officiating, Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery in Camptown, Pa. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, Pa. Online condolences may be made at www.sheldonfuneralhomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to make memorial donations to the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Co., 201 West Second St., PO Box 86, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
