Son of Moses Bailey and his wife. Drowned in the wreck of the Ship Rob Roy, near Boone Island. See Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636-1850, Vol 20, page 548.

A sudden, violent gust of wind took hold of her sails and flipped her on her side 5 miles E SE of Boon Island, Maine and 4 miles N NW of Nubble Point, Maine.

"The schooner ‘Rob Roy' has been towed to Portsmouth and the bodies of those that perished were found and interred in that place on Sunday." See Portsmouth Journal of Literature and Politics, 7 Jul 1832.
