Early Life: Ruth was born March 15, 1924, in San Diego, California, to Arthur Benjamin and Ruth Kemp Clinger.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On September 15, 1943, she married Virl Kay Tanner in San Diego, California. One week later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They resided in San Diego for 30 years as they raised their family of five children. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, excellent homemaker and talented seamstress. After retirement, Ruth and Virl moved to Levan, Utah. Ruth especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ruth Ellen Clinger Tanner passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, Mission Viejo, California.
Survived By: Her sons: William Tanner, John Tanner, David Tanner; daughter, Emily Pugmire; 42 grandchildren; 98 great grandchildren; sister, Emerald Owens; brothers: John Clinger and Lawrence Clinger.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband; her parents; daughter, Geraldene; her grandson, Matthew Nobbs; brothers: Grant, Daniel, Allan; sisters, Geraldene, Norma, Maurine and Naomi.
