Felix died Dec. 2 in Grants. He was born May 14, 1931 in Diener, N.M.

Felix was a lifelong resident of the area; a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was active with the Grants volunteer fire department, a member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion. He worked with his father filing uranium and florspar claims and for a brief period ran a uranium mine. He was owner of Felix Texaco Service Station for 30 years and later the New Mexico Highway Department form 1991-1996.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Mirabal of Grants; sons, Phil Mirabal Sr. of Belen, Danny Mirabal of Grants; daughters, Merlinda "Marty" Mirabal of Philadelphia, Penn., Mathilda "Matty" Mirabal of El Paso, Texas, Frances Miera of Grants, Anna Marie Chavez of Albuquerque; brother, Max Mirabal of Grants; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mirabal is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Moises Mirabal and Sarah McDaniels Mirabal; brothers, Clifford Mirabal, Clarence Mirabal, sister, Estella Mirabal.

Pallbearers will be Phil Mirabal Jr., Dominic Mirabal, Melvin Miera, Chris Devlin, Julian Martinez Jr., Jessie Miera and Reynoldo Heredia.
