Harold Otto Carl Haseleu, 82, Litchville, ND died Monday, May 8, 2000 in a car accident near Forman, ND. Harold was born September 8, 1917, in Prairie Township, near Litchville, ND, the son of Arthur and Marie (Alber) Haseleu. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Litchville, ND. He attended rural school in Griswold, ND. He served in the Civil Conservation Corps.
Harold married Madeline Miriam Nitschke on November 7, 1941. They made their home on a farm southeast of Marion. Harold was the youngest landowner in LaMoure County where he farmed and raised cattle. In 1968 the family moved to a farm south of Litchville, he continued to farm, raised Quarter Horses and became a licensed plumber.

Harold was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Griswold, ND and served on the church council. He served as a LaMoure County Commissioner from 1980-1988 was a member of Prairie Township Board and served on the South Central Human Services Advisory Council.

At the age of 82 Harold still enjoyed helping out in the fields and plumbing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren, and short trips with his wife. He liked to walk through the pastures and see the new foals everyday.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Madeline Haseleu of Litchville, ND, two sons, Jerold (Bonnie) Haseleu of Litchvillle, ND and Bruce (Renee) Haseleu of Litchville, ND; four grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Arzelle) Haseleu of Ltichville, ND; two sisters, Alice (Nels) Lebahn Christensen of Valley City, ND and Dorothy (Frank) Rief of Waconia, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, son (Howard); two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church (Griswold) rural Litchville, ND with Rev. Donna Baskins officiating.
