Frank Hutson

Frank Hutson, age 88, of Canton Township, died on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Consulate Health Care, North Strabane Township. He was born on October 20, 1920, in Washington, a son of Ivan and Minnie Mae Miller Hutson. Mr. Hutson attended Muse Presbyterian Church. He worked for 29 years in the Customer Service Department of the Columbia Gas Company. During World War II, he served in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater, as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Mr. Hutson was a member of the American Legion Post #175, of Washington. On July 5, 1942, he married Elizabeth Jane Knight. Mrs. Hutson died on August 5, 1988.

Surviving are a son, William E. (Joyce) Hutson of Washington; a daughter, Lavonna (Patrick "Duke") Gallagher of Muse; four grandchildren, Sherry L. (Jay) Stewart, Shelly I. (Ron) Stewart, Kristen L. (Michael) Kropiewnicki and Shawn P. (Darla) Gallagher; seven great grandchildren, Dustin W. Hutson, Santana A. Stewart, Grayson A. Stewart, Owen W. Kropiewnicki, Christopher S. Gallagher, Drue T. Gallagher and Dakota W. Gallagher.

Deceased are two brothers, Ivan and Charles Hutson; seven sisters, Eleanor, Bertha, Mildred, Gladys and three sisters who died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 pm on Sunday, in the Hummell and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, Supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, Funeral Director, where services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 10, 2009, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Muse Presbyterian Church.
