He was a longtime resident of the Clayton area.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Lucero, in 1999.
He is survived by: four daughters, Bertha Ojeda, Viola Gonzales, and Ruby Kocer, all of Albuquerque, and Frances Naranjo of Clayton; six sons, Gilbert Ortiz of Albuquerque, Alfred De Herrera of Santa Fe, Louis De Herrera, Joe De Herrera, George De Herrera and Michael De Herrera, all of Clayton; a sister, Helen De Herrera; a brother, Frank De Herrera; 40 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
