Kate Adams Nelson, 66 of Tolleson, AZ passed away on February 28, 2014 during a hard struggle with cancer.
Kate was born March 15, 1947, to Myron and Erma Adams in Brigham City, Utah at Cooley Memorial. During Kate's childhood she had also lived in Nevada and Idaho.
She married the man of her dreams, Charles Howard Nelson on January 30, 1967. During their 47 years together they raised two sons: Jason and Travis. Together they started and ran a successful business in Denver, CO, along supporting their sons in hockey, baseball and swimming. After selling the business and retiring to Tolleson, AZ, Kate enjoyed tending to her beautiful yard. Her greatest joy however came from the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Kate was always the constant entertainer and loved to have guests visit. She always went out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable and truly welcome. She was a constant example of "Christ like" love. Her granddaughter would refer to her time with Grandma as "Living the Life!" Nothing could have been more true. On July 27, 2013, a joyous moment took place Kate and Chuck were sealed for time and eternity in the Brigham City LDS Temple.
She was reunited in Heaven with her son Jason, her parents Myron and Erma and her brother Vernile.
She leaves behind her husband, Chuck, son, Travis (Missy) Nelson, Aurora, CO and her grandchildren: Quinton, Brylee, Haydn, Charly and Madelyn. Her brothers: John (Norlene) Adams and Dean (Jeanette) Adams. Plus many other family members and friends who held a special place in her heart.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brigham City 6th Ward Chapel 105 W. Fishburn Dr. Brigham City, UT.
A viewing will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
