Norma "Mouci" Mueller, 97, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, in Katy. She was born June 5, 1916, in Peters Community, Austin County.

The youngest child of Karl and Natalie (Timme) Balke, Mouci attended school in the Peters - Hacienda Community.

She was united in marriage with Innes Paul "I.P." Mueller in Sealy on Sept. 30, 1933. I.P. and Mouci moved to Waller County where they resided for the remainder of their lives.

Mouci was a homemaker, a member of the Pattison United Methodist Church and the Brookshire Chapter #652, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son-in-law George Barnett of Plattsburgh, N.Y., grandson Geoffrey Bruner of Cadyville, N.Y., her caregiver and friend Queen Vaughn and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband I.P. Mueller, daughter Cookie Barnett, son Robin Mueller, daughter-in-law Nina Mueller, brothers Edwin and his wife Lillie, Lyman Walter "Boots" and his wife Mary, and Tim Balke, sisters Edina Bailess and her husband Bill, Amanda Balke, and Nola Lehde and her husband Helmus, brother-in-law Wesley Mueller and his wife Lina, sisters-in-law Mildred Mersmann and her husband Charlie, and Betty Peters and her husband Frank.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire. Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m.
at 11 a.m. at the Pattison United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Newcomb officiating.

Private family interment was held in the Sealy Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Greg Neeley, Charlie Wilson, Joseph Jez, Larry Mayberry, Rhe Halbison, Chad Fishbeck and Dr. Mark Bing.
