MRS. G. W. HOLLAND

Mrs. G. W. Holland, of Lucky, La., was born October 29, 1864 in Oak Grove, La. She died Nov. 6, 1925. She was reared in Oak Grove and united with the Methodist church in early womanhood. There she had many friends and relatives and was loved by all who knew her, for to know her was to love her.

At the age of 22 years Mrs. Holland, nee Miss Lizzie Olivia Harris, was married to G. W. Holland of Oak Grove on Oct. 11, 1887. To this union nine children were born, seven of whom survive her.

Mr. and Mrs. Holland made their home in Oak Grove until the year 1903 when they, moved to Liberty Hill, and the following year moved to Lucky, La., where they were living at the time of her death.

Mrs. Holland had been in ill health for several years. On Monday morning, Nov. 2 she was taken seriously ill. Every medical aid possible was given but God's strong hand knew best, so on Friday afternoon, Nov. 6 at 3:30 o'clock He called her to his blessed home of rest.

She left a devoted husband, Mr. G. W. Holland, three sons—Dallas Holland of Mexia, Texas, Boyd Holland of Lucky, La., Lee Holland, her baby boy, and four daughters—Mrs. W. R. Woods of Liberty Hill, La., Mrs. E. H. Collinsworth of Bienville and her baby daughter, Lucile. Two sisters, Mrs. Thos. Smart of Oak Grove, and Mrs. Molly Pesnell of Shreveport; two brothers, Mr. Robert Harris of New Orleans, and Mr. Elisha Harris of Simsboro also survive her. Others left to mourn her passing are three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

On Saturday morning at 11 o'clock the funeral procession left Lucky for Oak Grove, her old home, where Rev. W. T. Strain of Simsboro conducted the funeral services. All her relatives and friends were there to pay their last tribute of love and respect to this beloved woman. Many beautiful flowers covered the grave. Her remains were laid to rest near the graves of the two children who had long since passed away.

Mrs. Holland had many friends who will deeply miss her for she was a mother, a friend and neighbor to all in every respect.

—By one who knew her intimately.
