Obituary found in "Whitley Branches, Vol. 67, pg 24 - ELDER DANIEL HAMBLIN was born May 16, 1810 and died September 25, 1886. He joined the United Baptist Church at Patterson Creek by a profession of faith and was baptized in Jul 1841. His membership was at Patterson Creek. Within a few years of his death when he moved near Boston and took up fellowship in the Boston Church of United Baptists by letter of recommendation. Very soon after he joined the church at Patterson Creek he began to work for the Master. He was ordained to preach the gospel of Christ by the direction and consent of the Patterson Creek Church. He had the pastoral care of Patterson Creek Church for many years. He also labored with Poplar Creek, Clear Fork, Wolf Creek, and several other churches. He served on the presbytery in the constitution of several churches. His Christian walks in life were such that he had the confidence of the people of all classes. We believe that he was the reason of turning many to righteousness. Bro. Hamblin lived a faithful Christian, a generous neighbor, a tender father, and a kind and affectionate husband.
