Lenora K. Madsen
Bountiful - Lifetime teacher, and friend of children, Lenora Kimball Madsen, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 1986 at an Ogden care center of Alzheimer's Disease.
Born April 27, 1908, in St. David, Arizona, to Crozier and Mary Lenora Roberts Kimball. Moved to Draper at the age of 5. One June 2, 1932 she married Charles Henry Madsen, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 17, 1982. Graduated from Brigham Young University. Later earned an MA Degree from University of Utah. After her marriage she lived in Price, until the family moved to Bountiful in 1953. She taught in elementary schools in Price and Bountiful for over 30 years, retiring in 1974. While in Price she was very active in civic affairs. She was chosen Mother of the Year in 1953.
Survived by her children of Pleasant Grove; Sunnyside; Kaysville; Pleasant Grove; Worland, Wyoming; two of Tallahassee, Florida; Bakersfield, California; Ogden, Gilbert, Arizona; Bountiful; and Washington, D.C.; forty-two grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edwin R. Kimball and Rodney Kimball, both Provo; Mrs. Golden (Caroline) Barrett, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Vernon (Bernice) Cook, Logan; Dr. Reed Kimball, Eugene, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held Monday 1 p.m., Bountiful 40th LDS Ward, 640 South 750 East, with Bishop David Hansen, officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Burial Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Funeral Directors: Memorial Estates Mortuary.
