Mrs. Esperanza Jaquez Ramirez, 85, peacefully passed away at home on 2/24/14. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1948. Espy married her high school sweetheart, Rodolfo Ramirez, in 1951. Her love and devotion for her husband, 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren was surpassed only by her love for the Lord, Jesus. As a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish she served as a Eucharistic minister and member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a volunteer at her childrens' schools, serving on PTA and acting as homeroom mother in their early years. She was a member of the "Mothers Club" at Cathedral High School and a volunteer at Jesus and Mary High School. She is preceded in death by her mother Margarita McClure, her brother Ralph Jaquez, and her sisters Ernestina Duran and Ofelia Morales. She is survived by her brother, Dan McClure Jr. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Rodolfo; her children Rudy Ramirez, Roland Ramirez (Sarah), Ray Ramirez (Kathy), Robin Parris (Patrick), Robert Ramirez (Lorraine), Rebecca Fernandez; grandchildren and great grandchildren; relatives and close friends. Visitation will be on Thursday, 2/27 at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 5-9pm, rosary at 7pm. Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, 2/28 at 10am. Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers include her sons and grandsons - Michael Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, Bobby Ramirez (godson), and Nick Fernandez. Honorary pallbearer is Patrick Parris.
