She married Benjamin Bitter.

She is survived by two daughters, Hazel Shannon of Arnold, Missouri and Helen Bitter of Riverside, California; one step-daughter, Evelyn Phillips of Murphysboro; one step-son, Bernard Bitter of Riverside; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Beulah Yearian of Murphysboro; and one brother, Isaac Wisely of Murphysboro.

Her husband preceded her in death.
