ALICE CURNS DIES
Funeral Services Monday For Murphysboro Resident
Mrs. Alice Curns, 89, Murphysboro, died Saturday in the Jackson County Nursing Home after an illness of seven years.
She was born in the Soto area near Oraville in 1871, and had lived in the Murphysboro area all her life.
She was married to Mike Schumaker, who preceded her in death. She was later married to George Curns, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Curns leaves a son, Fred Schumaker of Effingham, and a daughter, Mrs. Urban Gannon of Centralia.
Funeral services were Monday at the Roberts Residence Funeral Home. The Rev. H.T. Rafnel officiated. Burial was in Tower Grove Cemetery.
